Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Whitney Rose and estranged husband Justin Rose’s shocking separation was perhaps less of a surprise to those who knew the former couple.
A source exclusively tells Us that Whitney and Justin have yet to start the formal divorce process as they figure out the next logistical and legal steps.
“They haven’t taken any formal steps, like retaining attorneys or moving out yet, but they are currently separated,” the source tells Us. “They’re no longer functioning as a couple. The relationship has essentially come to a standstill, and they’re now trying to figure out what comes next.”
Us has reached out to Whitney and Justin’s spokespeople for comment.
Us confirmed on Wednesday, July 22, that Whitney and Justin called it quits after 16 years of marriage. Neither Whitney nor Justin have publicly addressed their separation or the nature of their current post-split relationship.
The former couple tied the knot in 2009. They share daughter Bobbi, 13, and son Brooks, 10. Since RHOSLC premiered in 2020, Whitney has been candid about her and Justin’s marital ups and downs. Whitney previously told Us in 2023 that she and Justin were “fine.”
“Our marriage isn’t any different than anyone else’s. We just share it, whether people like it or not,” Whitney said at the time. “We’re not sharing cringey things anymore.”
Last year, Whitney opened up to Us about how her children handle seeing their parents’ good and not so great moments on the Bravo series.
“Any talk of Justin and I getting divorced is very sensitive to [my kids]. Can I share what my daughter said to me though?” she said in Us’ Reality Stars of the Year issue as she and her RHOSLC costars graced the cover in November 2025. “I asked her, ‘What do you say to kids at school when they ask you about your mom and dad painting each other on TV and getting physical?’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, that’s my mom. Are you jealous?’ So I mean, I’ve raised good kids.”
