Will Forte found love with wife Olivia Modling after meeting at a mutual friend’s party.
Forte and Modling started dating after meeting in 2018, getting engaged the following year. The couple planned on tying the knot in 2020 but their plans shifted amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before walking down the aisle, Modling and Forte welcomed daughter Zoe in February 2021. Five months later, the couple said, “I do.” They later expanded their family with daughter Cecilia.
Over the years, Modling has supported Forte at various events. The Last Man on Earth actor previously gushed about what an amazing partner Modling is for him.
“I needed to find somebody who was a very patient person and she’s the most patient, understanding woman in the world,” the Saturday Night Live alum said in an interview with People in December 2021. “I’m feeling very happy and very lucky these days.”

Will Forte and Olivia Modling Share 2 Kids
Forte and Modling became parents in 2021 after the arrival of daughter Zoe. At the time, Forte was 50 years old and he joked about becoming a father later in life during an April 2021 appearance on Conan.
“I’m a 50-year-old father. Which is pretty old for a father. So my fiancée, Olivia, had this made for me,” the actor said while holding up a sweatshirt that read, “Dad or Grandpa?”
Modling and Forte expanded their family the following year when they quietly welcomed daughter Cecilia. Forte revealed in 2024 that he was a father of two.
“I have two young daughters, one who’s about 3 and one who’s about a year and a half, so we are dancing all the time,” Forte said in an interview with People. “I’m so bad at it, but when they get up, it makes me instantly want to dance.”
Will Forte and Olivia Modling Had an Impromptu Wedding
After their original wedding plans were put on hold amid the pandemic, Forte and Modling opted to exchange their vows in an unexpected way. During a 2021 interview with People, Forte shared that his and Modling’s families were going to visit them while he was filming in New Mexico and they decided to make the wedding happen.
“We realized, ‘Oh, all the people that we would want to be here are going to be here.’ Most of them, because a lot of my closest friends work on MacGruber with me,” he explained. “They were already in Albuquerque, so we just decided very last minute, ‘Let’s just have this wedding, surprise my parents.’ They didn’t even know until they pulled into the parking lot. And we just had this really fun, delightful wedding, pretty small, in the back of Jorma Taccone’s house.”
Olivia Modling Joked About Divorcing Will Forte After His Reaction to Her New Hair
While appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers in June 2026, Forte admitted that he did not react properly to his wife’s new look after Modling decided to get bangs.
“I FaceTime her, she picks up the FaceTime and she has freshly cut bangs,” he recalled. “She has never had bangs before since I’ve known her. Did not know she was getting bangs. No words were spoken until I said, ‘What happened to you?’”
The Four Seasons star admitted he knew that response was not the best, so he tried to change his approach.
“And then I said, ‘Is that a wig?!’ And look, in fairness to me, the way the bangs were presented, she was, like, hunched over a little bit. So it wasn’t like Brigitte Bardot bangs, it was more like Spock,” he shared. “And it was also right around Halloween, so like, maybe she was going to dress as Spock for Halloween, and it was a wig?”
Forte tried to think of a way to complement Modling’s new look but he had to get off the phone and get back to work.
“It’s like, ‘How do I turn this around and make it seem like I think they’re beautiful?’” he recalled. “And then I kind of realized we were in the middle of rehearsal and everyone was like, ‘What are you doing on your phone?’ So I said, ‘Oh! I’ve got to go!’ So that was how it was left.”
After his abrupt hang-up, Forte received a message from an unhappy Modling.
“She said, ‘Is that a wig? The. Worst. Possible. Thing. To. Hear. After. Cutting. BANGS!’” Forte recalled. “And I was like, ‘Ha ha ha ha.’ And then she said, ‘Divorce.’”
