Jack White and Olivia Jean were in each other’s lives for more than a decade before their split.
News broke in June 2026 that Jean filed for divorce from White after four years of marriage. Jean filed her paperwork on June 3, citing the same day as their date of separation. She also claimed in court documents obtained by Us Weekly that White is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.”
The estranged couple were last seen together in April 2026. The White Stripes cofounder has been married three times, most recently to Jean. He was previously married to bandmate Meg from 1996 to 2000 and tied the knot with Karen Elson in 2005. The twosome welcomed daughter Scarlett and son Henry Lee before their divorce in 2013.

2009
White and Jean initially crossed paths in 2009 when she left a demo CD at a concert by his band The Dead Weather. White invited Jean to record in Nashville and she formed The Black Belles, who released their self-titled debut two years later.
2014
White and Jean’s relationship turned romantic around 2014.
“We were just really good friends [at first],” Jean told The New York Times in 2022. “You have to know that you can be friends for a while before you can date. It wasn’t really a transition. It was more, ‘OK, this is happening.’ More like a continuation.”
2022
White popped the question to Jean on stage during a concert at Detroit’s Masonic Temple Theatre as she duetted with him on The White Stripes’ “Hotel Yorba.” The pair tied the knot during the encore, with his Third Man cofounder, Ben Swank, officiating.
“I asked her, ‘Do you get married now, or do you wanna wait?’ And she’s like, ‘No! Right now! This is a great day!'” White later recalled on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
2025
White celebrated his third wedding anniversary with Jean in April 2025 with a sweet Instagram tribute. “Happy 3rd wedding anniversary to this bad ass Detroit guitar player chick I love, Mrs. Olivia Jean,” he wrote at the time.
2026
Jean filed for divorce from White in June 2026, claiming he is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” Jean requested spousal support and said she depends on Jack’s income, asking to be added to his life insurance policy.
