The White Stripes guitarist Jack White’s wife, Olivia Jean, has reportedly filed for divorce after four years of marriage.
Jean, 36, submitted divorce paperwork on June 3, according to court docs obtained by Us Weekly. The goth rock singer listed their date of separation as the same date of the filing. She claimed in the docs that White, 50, is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.”
Jean requested spousal support, claiming that she depends on White’s income to pay for her bills, according to the outlet. She also requested to be put on his life insurance policy despite their separation.
The estranged couple, who tied the knot in 2022, were last seen together in April.
TMZ was first to report the news. Us has reached out to reps for White and Jean for comment.
The estranged couple was last seen together in New York City in April. White last posted about Jean on Instagram in April 2025, celebrating their third wedding anniversary.
“Happy 3rd wedding anniversary to this bad ass Detroit guitar player chick I love, Mrs. Olivia Jean,” he wrote at the time.
White proposed to Jean during a concert at the Masonic Temple Theatre in April 2022, marrying the former Black Belles lead vocalist moments later.
White shared later that month that he had been thinking about proposing to Jean all day.
“I thought, as the day was going on, if a day had some left turns, maybe it wasn’t the right day,” he said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “But the day kept going so well! I figured it was a good time. I asked her, ‘Do you get married now, or do you wanna wait?’ And she’s like, ‘No! Right now! This is a great day!'”
White added that Jean was “very surprised” by the proposal.
Jean, meanwhile, told The New York Times in July 2022 that it was the “best experience of my life.”
“You could plan a wedding for five years and it wouldn’t compare to that,” she added.
White and Jean met in 2009 when Jean left a demo CD at a concert. The pair began dating in 2014.
“We were just really good friends [at first],” Jean told the NYT. “You have to know that you can be friends for a while before you can date. It wasn’t really a transition. It was more, OK, this is happening. More like a continuation.”
White was previously married to former bandmate Meg White from 1996 to 2000. He later tied the knot with Karen Elson in 2005. The pair welcomed daughter Scarlett, 20, and son Henry Lee, 18, before their 2013 divorce.
