Name-drop before mic drops! Jaden Smith released his new single, “Offering,” on his younger sister Willow‘s Soundcloud account on Tuesday, April 14, and he gives a shout-out to another member of his famous family.
Smith’s new song, “Offering,” is a tribute of sorts to his multi-hyphenate dad Will Smith. In it, Jaden raps: “My dad said to beat the system, understand it first / My dad’s an inspiration, I respect the man and work / And everything you say is something that you can’t reverse / Something that you can’t rehearse.”
The 16-year-old Calabasas native shared his song with fans via Twitter, calling it his “offering to the world.”

Both Jaden and Willow have been raised to think artistically and creatively in their household, as Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith have previously explained in interviews. This week, the independent Hollywood scion built his very own bed frame, detailing the process via Instagram.
Photos showed Jaden diligently assembling his new piece of furniture, and later celebrating his accomplishments. “Just Finished My New Bed……Sweeve,” he wrote.
Jaden made headlines last week after he stepped out in L.A. in a dress, later joking about his sartorial style choices on social media. “That Moment When Your Wearing A Dress With No Pants And You Swerve Way To Hard,” he tweeted.
In a recent interview with Esquire, his famous dad told the mag that his son is unlike most kids in Hollywood. “He has refused to be a slave to money. I so respect that,” Will noted, adding that his kids can handle the spotlight.
“They’re really well-adjusted around this business and understanding the nature of having to take a battering. And Jaden understands that that’s a part of this business. If he wants to do it, there’s a certain amount of battery that you have to be willing to live through.”
