Bachelor Jake Pavelka doesn't care if people don't get why he proposed to Vienna Girardi on Monday's finale.
"People don't understand why Vienna and are together, and that's OK," he said on the After the Final Rose special. "I do – and that's the important thing."
Girardi, 23, said when Pavelka, 32, popped the question, "It was just magical."
She called the moment her ultimate "fantasy, everything I wanted in life." As she was walking up to Pavelka moments before he proposed, she said she thought, "I couldn't imagine my life without him."
Pavelka said that moment was "amazing … It was great to finally say, 'I love you,' and get it out there."
So what's next for the two?
"We've talked about getting married, but we haven't set a date just yet," said Pavelka, who will return for a romantic trip to the island of St. Lucia with Girardi, courtesy of ABC.
Girardi said she plans to move to Dallas – where Pavelka, a pilot, resides – immediately.
Pavelka said it'll be "a good change."
Girardi, who has had to keep their romance quiet for months leading up to the finale, said she is excited to have "some normalcy in our life."
She said "it's been really, really hard" keeping their relationship secret.
"We're finally able to go out in the real world," she said. "It's going to be nice!"
