It's Justin Bieber's world, and James Franco is just living in it. Earlier this month, the 127 Hours actor posted a video to his WhoSay page in which he lip-synched to the pop singer's hit song "Boyfriend." The clip made the rounds online but disappeared soon after — and Franco says it's because Bieber's camp wasn't amused by his little spoof.

"I was asked to take it down by some people," the star told E! News at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. "Bieber didn't contact me, but I don't think he was too happy."

The video featured Franco frolicking around with his Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson while wearing a crooked baseball cap (a la Bieber). But he says it was all in good fun.

"I wasn't trying to diss him," the actor insisted. (A source told E! that Bieber has never even seen the clip.)

Incidentally, Franco also paid homage to the pop sensation's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who thought his send-up of "Love You Like a Love Song" was "hysterical." (Gomez stars in Spring Breakers with Franco, Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens.)

"I loved it," the 20-year-old singer-actress told E! of the video. "It was so good."
