Doesn’t get much sweeter! Jason Kennedy is engaged to LOLO magazine editor-in-chief Lauren Scruggs. The E! TV co-host announced the news himself by posting a picture from the Dallas, Texas proposal via Instagram on Friday, May 30.
“Truth is I never flew to New York, I flew to Dallas and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with me,” the 32-year-old wrote. “I love you @laurenscruggs.” Kennedy proposed with candles that spelled out “Will you marry me” outside, as he appeared to look up at his bride-to-be.
Scruggs, 26, gushed about the proposal (and displayed her gorgeous engagement ring!) in a separate Instagram snapshot. “Possibly the best night of my life. I love you beyond,” she wrote. (Scruggs survived a scary accident in December 2011 when she lost her left eye and left hand after walking into an airplane’s propeller.)
Us confirmed back in July 2013 that the pair were an item. With Kennedy living in L.A. and Scruggs in Dallas, the twosome have made it work by traveling back and forth to see each other. “They’re cute,” an insider told Us at the time. “It is like courting—high school love.”
As for Kennedy, jumping on a plane from time to time wasn’t the only thing that made the relationship stick. “I’ll admit it, being a so-called good boy has paid off for me,” he said in Glamour magazine last March. “I’ve got my dream job. And I’ve found my dream girl.”
