This fall, he’ll be tuning in. Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush revealed during an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Oct. 21, that he’s looking forward to CBS’ new series Supergirl starring Melissa Benoist because — according to the politico — the 27-year-old actress is “pretty hot.”
Bush, 62, who partook in a serious hour-long Q&A about public policy, immigration laws, the economy, and more as he continues his bid for the presidency, fielded a rather funny question at one point: “Who is your favorite Marvel superhero?”
“I like watching the movies,” Bush replied. “I wish I owned Marvel, as someone that believes in capitalism…. I don’t know, I’m kinda old school. I like the old school guys like Batman, a little dark these days.”
But then he continued. The Florida governor (brother and son of two former U.S. presidents) noted to the audience at the Libre Forum that he recently watched the preview for Supergirl, starring former Glee actress Benoist. The series, which is in the vein of Smallville, Arrow, and other superhero shows, tells the tale of a girl who has incredible powers among less-than-extraordinary humans.
“I saw it when I was working out this morning,” the married father of three shared. “She looked kinda… she looked pretty hot. I don’t know which channel it’s on, but I’m looking forward to that.”
Upon realizing his words, Bush joked: “That’ll make news.”
Other stars to be featured in Supergirl include Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, and Owain Yeoman. The CBS series debuts at 8:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 26.
