Influencer Jen Hamilton claimed that her estranged husband, Brian Hamilton, was previously unfaithful before his recent affair.
Jen, 35, claimed to The Cut in a Thursday, August 13, profile that she briefly separated from Brian after his first affair. The duo ultimately reconciled before calling it quits earlier this summer.
“He did all this stuff to make me feel like he had changed,” Jen told the outlet.
Jen announced in June that she and Brian, who share two sons, had separated after 14 years of marriage.
“Yes, we are separating. This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship,” a joint statement read. “What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”
Weeks later, Jen claimed via social media that Brian was leading a “double life” and had been unfaithful.
“While I was at the hospital, taking care of people, he found the time to have a whole other life,” she alleged via Instagram in July. “As someone who’s never even passionately kissed anyone else in my entire life, this has broken me beyond comprehension. I’m done being people’s PR manager.”
Brian has not publicly addressed the accusations, though Jen claimed to The Cut that his mistress called her.
“I knew about you. He talked about you all the time,” Jen recalled of the other woman’s comments. “I just didn’t know you had so many followers.”
Jen told the outlet that the call with the woman “pissed [her] off” and was part of what prompted her to start publicly sharing her story.
“Growing up evangelical, we were promised if we stayed pure and respected our husbands and submitted, we would get a certain outcome,” Jen’s sister, Julie, told the outlet. “We did everything we were told. I just have this fire in my belly about women and how we are treated. It makes me really mad.”
Jen further claimed that she discovered Brian’s secret TikTok account in June which he was using to message other women.
“Which, bold, because that’s where I live. That’s my neck of the woods,” she said.
Jen is now ready for her next chapter. Earlier this month, she marked what would have been her 14th wedding anniversary with a “Jendependence Day” party.
“What’s crazy is this is the best anniversary I’ve ever had,” she said in an Instagram video on August 4, sharing a glimpse of how she celebrated the occasion. “What an honor it is to feel more love than when I did when I was married, and this [photo shows] half the people that came. This is the best anniversary I’ve ever had.”
