Jenelle Evans’ son Jace is speaking out about his current reality after moving in with her mom, Barbara Evans.
“My grandma, she’s doing pretty good,” Jace, 17, shared during a Tuesday, August 18, Instagram Live viewed by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “I’m over here just living my life. Everyone was happy to have me back home. I’ve been doing my best.”
Earlier this month, Jenelle, 34, confirmed her eldest son — who she shares with ex Andrew Lewis — had left a facility, where he was able to work on himself and focus on his emotional well-being.
“Jace is back at my mom’s at the moment and isn’t coming to live with me because my mother and I have mutually agreed upon his living situation and circumstances,” Jenelle exclusively shared with Us on Thursday, August 13. “Jace wants to be around his friends and is now working at his job again that he once had. I’m really happy all parties can come together for my son and finally agree on something.”
During his rare Instagram Live, Jace said he is “doing pretty good” and continues to have a relationship with his siblings — even though they live in a different state. (Jenelle also shares son Kaiser, 12, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffin and daughter Ensley, 9, with ex-husband David Eason.)
“Yes, I do, actually [have a relationship with them]. I have my little brother’s phone number and my little sister’s phone number,” Jace claimed after noticing his mom had joined the livestream to watch. “I’ll call them here or there. When I’m 18, next year, I’m gonna probably drive up there and see them.”
While Jace doesn’t have a car just yet, the high school student confirmed he does have a job and hopes to “go around the world, travel and film content” when he’s done with school.
For now, he’s simply “getting what I need to get done” and trying to live a relatively private life.
“I considered [living] by myself, honestly, but I’m at my grandma’s because I’ve got a job,” he shared. “I’ve got everything I need to get done. I’m about to be done with school.”
Jenelle rose to fame in 2010 on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, which documented the birth of Jace and her tumultuous relationship with his father.
Cameras continued to roll as she expanded her family on Teen Mom 2 with the birth of Kaiser in 2014 and Ensley in 2017.
When some fans questioned why Jenelle didn’t pick up Jace from his facility earlier this summer, the reality star explained that she was diagnosed with CRPS, a chronic, severe neuro-inflammatory pain condition usually affecting an arm or a leg. As a result, she cannot physically travel.
