Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is responding to online speculation about where her son Jace is living.
“Jace is back at my mom’s at the moment and isn’t coming to live with me because my mother and I have mutually agreed upon his living situation and circumstances,” Jenelle, 34, exclusively shared with Us on Thursday, August 13.
The former MTV star also confirmed that her 17-year-old son — who she shares with ex Andrew Lewis — is out of a facility, where he was able to work on himself and focus on his emotional well-being.
“[TikToker] Dawson [Day] had to pick up Jace for me because I have knee problems, had surgery and now am diagnosed with CRPS,” Jenelle shared with Us. “I couldn’t physically travel and still can’t.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, CRPS is a chronic, severe neuro-inflammatory pain condition usually affecting an arm or a leg. It’s characterized by continuous burning pain, extreme touch sensitivity and localized swelling.
Jenelle made it clear that Jace’s new living arrangements were not related to her ex-husband David Eason in any way.
“This has nothing to do with David at all,” she said. “Jace wants to be around his friends and is now working at his job again that he once had. I’m really happy all parties can come together for my son and finally agree on something.”
Earlier this week, Jace caught the attention of some fans when he posted on social media. According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the teenager shared a photo of a computer and various song lyrics.
The post comes less than two weeks after Jace turned 17. At the time of her son’s birthday, Jenelle posted a special message on Facebook.
“I HAVE A 17 YEAR OLD!” she wrote on August 2. “Being a teenager can be hard, but you seem to handle it well. You’re so smart, curious about life and handsome. Hope today is everything you’ve wanted and more! I love you Jace Evans.”
Jenelle rose to fame in 2010 on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant when she documented the birth of Jace and her tumultuous relationship with his father.
Cameras continued to roll as she expanded her family on Teen Mom 2 with the birth of Kaiser Griffith in 2014, shared with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith, and Ensley Eason in 2017 with David.
Although Jenelle and David’s divorce was finalized in July 2025, they have been spending more time together in recent months. Jenelle, however, maintains they are just friends in a “healthy coparenting relationship.”
