Party people! Jennifer Garner celebrated her 44th birthday on Sunday, April 17, with a bash that included her favorite people, plenty of balloons, a marching band, laughter and love.

The A-list actress first kicked off the special day by attending church with her kids, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4. Her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, then took the kids out to play while their mom prepped for her big night ahead.

The Miracles From Heaven star invited a few dozen of her loved ones over to her home in L.A.'s Brentwood nabe, and the abode was decorated with bundles of balloons. Garner then topped the intimate evening by hosting a live marching band decked out in red and white attire, which was photographed in her driveway.

In an interview with Dr. Oz last month, Garner reflected about the importance of faith and spiritually in her own personal life. "My parents did such a great job of raising my sisters and me in a world where faith was part of our lives," she said. "We went to church every single week. We were not ever guilted; we were not, nobody talked about hell in our house. It wasn’t a dark thing ever, it was only something positive. And our church was and is, you know for my parents and my little sister’s family who are still going to the same church in Charleston, West Virginia. It’s the center of our social lives, as well as a spiritual center."

Garner, Affleck and the kids will travel to the U.K. next month while he films Justice League overseas. Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that the family will be renting a home in North London, where Garner will look after the kids while her ex, 43, films his latest superhero flick in the role of Batman.

"It’s what they’ve always done, married or separated, for the kids," one insider told Us of the rather amicable arrangement. "Ben is filming Justice League and they always bring the kids to where they are when they are working. Ben did the same thing when she was filming in Atlanta. They take turns bringing the kids to where the other is on location and just renting a house while they are there."
