Take it off! Jennifer Lopez stripped down to a barely-there ensemble during a sizzling live performance on the Thursday, April 7, series finale of American Idol. The superstar, 46, stopped the show with a medley of her new song “Ain’t Your Mama” and her 1999 classic “Let’s Get Loud.”
When the singer first took the stage to debut her latest single, she channeled a ’50s housewife in a white silk apron teamed with a head wrap. After wowing the crowd with expertly executed choreography and strong vocals, Lopez ripped off her top layer of clothing to reveal a skin-baring Nicolas Jebran bodysuit with rhinestones and floral accents.
“Working with Jennifer and her [styling team Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn] is always a great experience,” Jebran exclusively told Us Weekly. “We have worked on various projects together including her Vegas residency, and they always know exactly what direction they want to go in when it comes to a custom piece. As detailed as they are, they always respect and encourage my creative freedom as a designer.”
In Jebran’s creation, the Shades of Blue actress turned up the volume for an energetic rendition of “Let’s Get Loud,” complete with a gaggle of sexy male dancers and showgirl-style theatrics.
Then, because two costume changes just weren’t enough, J. Lo slipped into her skimpiest outfit of the night: a glittering sheer one-piece that strategically covered her curves. The Bronx native concluded her set by shaking her famed booty to a lively instrumental of Latin music.
Now that Idol is officially over, Lopez is ready to fully focus on her All I Have Las Vegas residency. The global icon, who kicked off her highly praised concert series back in January, has said that covering her catalog of hits is what she loves to do most.
“I like playing more the big hits than anything. I’m not the artist who goes on tour and goes, ‘I have this new record so I’m going to play you all these new songs that you don’t know,'” she told MTV UK in October 2015. “I know you’re supposed to get people to fall in love with those new songs, but I am all about hits, hits, hits, and I like to play hits because I know that’s what people want to hear and I want people to have a good time when they come to my show.”
