When it came time for Jessica Biel to start trying for a baby with husband Justin Timberlake two years ago, the 7th Heaven alum admits she honestly had no idea where to begin. In part because of that, Biel, now mom to son Silas, 5 months, is setting out to teach girls and women everywhere what they really need to know about their bodies, by launching a series of online sex-ed videos covering everything from puberty to contraception.

"Now what happens?" she recalled during an interview with Glamour about going off birth control two years ago. "I've been on the Pill for so long; how hard will it be to get pregnant? [When should you have sex if you want to conceive — and if you don’t?] Suddenly I realized I really didn't know what's going on inside my own body," the 33-year-old admitted. "It was shocking."

Biel has since teamed up with WomanCare Global founder Saundra Pelletier to help teach women about their own bodies, including uncomfortable topics like menstruation.

"I was in a school play, wearing a gray beard and this pad the size of a skateboard and thinking, ‘What is happening to me?’” Biel recalled of being embarrassed after getting her period in the fifth grade. "We want girls to know what their [body is going through] so they don't feel scared or ashamed or gross."

The videos, Biel added, will be “informative but also goofy, smart, witty,” and will touch upon all kinds of “girl stories, fears, and insecurities.”
