Red, white, and almost something blue! Jessica Simpson and her soon-to-be husband Eric Johnson celebrated their upcoming nuptials with a BBQ bash at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif. on Friday, July 4. Some of their famous pals in attendance included Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, a source confirms to Us Weekly. Alba previously attended both of Simpson's baby showers in March 2012 and last April.
Simpson, 33, and Johnson, 34, were also joined by the fashion mogul's parents Tina and Joe Simpson, sister Ashlee Simpson and her own fiance Evan Ross, and best friend CaCee Cobb and her husband Donald Faison. (A day earlier, Ashlee and Ross took a fast food break at McDonald's in Santa Barbara, Calif. en route to the wedding.)
Guests noshed on beef brisket, baby back ribs, fried chicken, grilled shrimp, veggie burgers, Mac and cheese, and corn on the cob during the shindig, which began at 5 p.m. They sipped on wine and indulged their sweet tooth with peach pie, ice cream and sliced watermelon.
The party really switched into full gear at 7:30 p.m., however, when the crowd danced and did karaoke with the help of a DJ. Other activities included corn hole, horseshoes, jenga, bocce ball and croquet.
"It was a 4th of July BBQ," the insider noted to Us. "They all seemed to be having a really good time!"
Maxwell and Ace's parents are set to wed today at San Ysidro Ranch. The bride-to-be, for her part, has kept quiet the past couple of days. She last posted about her new fragrance ad via Twitter on June 27.
