Score! Jinger Duggar is dating hunky soccer player Jeremy Vuolo. The 22-year-old TLC star announced their courtship on the family’s website on Monday, June 20.
“We’re happy to announce that we are officially courting!” the Jill and Jessa: Counting On star and the athlete, 28, shared in the cute video. “Which means as opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and be very intentional about how we move forward.”
The couple met last May and then went on a mission trip together.
“It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character,” Duggar says in the clip. “After that, he contacted my dad [Jim Bob Duggar] and asked if we could get to know each other.”
Jinger’s potential hubby is from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and was raised by his father, who is a pastor. The Syracuse University grad was a goalie for the San Antonio Scorpions and also an ordained minister. After taking a break from the sport to pursue ministry, he re-signed with the team in 2014 following a missionary trip in the Philippines.
Jinger met Vuolo through her older sister Jessa Duggar and Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald. Vuolo regularly appeared in videos posted to Jessa’s YouTube channel and also attended the controversial family’s birthday celebration for Jason Duggar’s 16th birthday.
“Jason, happy birthday,” Vuolo said in a video from the April 2016 bash. “My charge to you as a young man is keep your gaze fixed upon Christ. … Keep your gaze upon Christ, keep your eyes there, fight every day for your affections to be towards Jesus first, and then the other things will fall into place.”
Jinger is the third daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to be courting. Their second eldest daughter, Jill Duggar, married husband Derick Dillard in June 2014.
