Rock-star romance! Joel Madden wished his wife, Nicole Richie, a happy birthday with the sweetest photo and message on Wednesday, September 21.
“Best Mom, Best Friend, Best Wife,” the 37-year-old Good Charlotte rocker captioned a photo of the two of them at an outdoor banquet. In the image, Madden is looking up as he sips on a glass of water while Richie puckers up next to him. “Happy Birthday Nicole, You keep us all laughing …❤️.”
In another Instagram post, Madden shared a stunning snapshot of his wife clad in a floor-length gold gown, leading a handsome horse down a dirt path. “The Birthday Walk 🌹,” he captioned the photo.
Both Madden and Richie, who turned 35 on Wednesday, have been vocal about their love for one another. In an episode of Oprah Winfrey’s Where Are They Now? in 2014, Richie gushed over her husband, who she wed in 2010.
"We met and we were partners from day one,” she said. “And from the second we found out we were going to be parents together, we looked at each other and we said, ‘OK, both of our parents are divorced. We both have had ups and downs with our parents and we don't really have a strong example of what a healthy family life is.'”
The couple share daughter Harlow, 8, and son Sparrow, 7. Also, in 2014, Madden called Richie and their children his “guiding light” in an interview with Details.
