Joel Madden

Born in March 1979, the Good Charlotte lead vocalist created his first band at the age of 16 after he and his identical twin, Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, attended a Beastie Boys concert.

Joel Madden was in a committed relationship with actress Hilary Duff, eight years his junior, for more than two years before the couple decided to split in November 2006. It has been rumored that the couple’s significant eight-year age difference was a key factor in their breakup.

Not long after the split, Madden hooked up with Nicole Richie, and the couple has been together ever since.

Madden and Richie have two children, daughter Harlow and son Sparrow; they wed in a winter-themed ceremony in December 2010.

In addition to his musical talents, Madden heads his own clothing line, MADE Clothing, and created a record label called DC Flag Records.

His group’s fourth record, Good Morning Revival, hit records stores in March 2007.
