Puppy kisses! Country singer Joey Feek is trying to stay upbeat while in hospice care. Her husband, Rory Feek, revealed on Wednesday, January 27, that some furry pals recently visited her.
“Some baby puppies came to play with Indy the other day, but I think her mama loved their visit the most,” Rory, 49, captioned a Facebook photo. In the snapshot, Joey, 40, holds an adorable puppy close to her face as she rests on a bed.
Joey and Rory, who make up the country bluegrass band Joey + Rory, married in 2002 and are parents to daughter Indiana, 23 months. Rory has been updating fans on his wife’s health since she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2014. On Thursday, he wrote that he couldn’t “begin to imagine” living without her.
“Joey and I both have questions. Lots of them. Hard questions that we don’t have any answers for. But still, we have faith – we choose to believe. I think that’s why they call it faith. If we knew all the answers, no faith would be required,” he wrote on their blog. “And so Joey and I do our best each day to only see the plus’s in our life.”
The couple are taking advantage of each day that they still have left together. Earlier this week, Rory even revealed that the musicians are releasing their final album, Hymns That Are Important to Us, next month.
“A lot has taken place in a year’s time, but through it all, these songs have given me such strength,” Joey said in a press release. Rory added to Entertainment Tonight: “I have no desire to go on singing or performing without her.”
