So good to see you, man. John Goodman stepped out for the red carpet premiere for upcoming flick Love the Coopers in Los Angeles on Thursday, Nov. 12, and the actor’s slimmer figure continued to turn heads.

Goodman, 63, kept things casual in a pair of jeans, a pink button-down, and a black blazer, and was often literally running around the event, chasing his costar Blake Baumgartner on the red carpet, according to the Daily Mail.

His fitness instructor, Mackie Shilstone, opened up to the New York Post about all the hard work Goodman had put into losing more than 100 pounds over the course of eight years.

“This didn’t happen overnight — it’s been an ongoing process,” Shilstone told the Post. “There needs to be strategic planning. This time, he really wanted to do it.”

In 2010, the Argo actor told David Letterman that he was 400 pounds at his absolute heaviest.

“I’d get off of Roseanne every spring. I’d lose 60 pounds every spring,” he said at the time. “Then I got too fond of the barleycorn. I’d gain it back and then some, every year. It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”
