Looking Good … Man! John Goodman was looking significantly slimmer and very healthy on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the BFI London Film Festival. The Golden Globe winner, 63, appeared alongside his Trumbo costars Helen Mirren and Bryan Cranston at the screening of their new film.
Clad in a sharp pinstripe navy suit with a blue shirt and polka-dot tie, Goodman’s slimmer frame couldn’t be missed. Just a year earlier the longtime character actor and Roseanne alum had appeared much fuller while doing press for his film The Gambler.
Throughout the years, Goodman’s weight has fluctuated. In 2010 he revealed he’d lost 100 pounds, telling David Letterman that his all-time highest weight was nearly 400 pounds.
“I’d get off of Roseanne every spring. I’d lose 60 pounds every spring,” he said at the time. “Then I got too fond of the barleycorn. I’d gain it back and then some, every year. It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”
