Jordin Sparks Makes Her Post-Split Debut With Lance Bass: Pictures

Bouncing back — and looking hot! Newly single Jordin Sparks made her first public appearance since splitting with boyfriend Jason Derulo at the Catalina Film Festival on Friday, Sept. 26. Her plus one? Longtime pal Lance Bass.

"My date, @lancebass!" Sparks, 24, captioned pictures of the friends via Instagram. "Prom theme: Left Behind 2014."

The American Idol alum wore a black body-hugging Michael Costello dress for the Left Behind film premiere afterparty, which was held at the Avalon Theater and Metropole.

"She kept a smile on her face and seemed to be in a good mood," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "It looked like Jordin was enjoying herself, and she was so sweet to fans."

The former 'N Sync member couldn't agree more. "She's doing great," Bass, 35, told Us at the event. "I mean look at her. She's a superstar and she can handle anything."

Us confirmed Thursday that Sparks and Derulo, 25, decided to go their separate ways after three years of dating. Rumors of infidelity quickly surrounded the exes, but were ultimately shutdown by the "Marry Me" singer.

"Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives," Derulo told Us in a statement. "Though I think it is a private matter and intended to keep my breakup with Jordin personal, due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment."

"I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met," he continued. "But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part." On Friday, Sparks tweeted: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
