He's sorry. Josh Taekman, the husband of Real Housewives of New York City star Kristen Taekman, admitted to having an account on Ashley Madison, and apologized in a statement to Us Weekly for registering on the infidelity website.
"I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family," he told Us on Tuesday. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives."
The 46-year-old Eboost founder shares two kids with his model wife. Just last week, hackers kept true to their promise and released stolen subscriber information in a massive leak. According to the Daily Mail, Taekman signed up for an account on the affair website back in June 2011, and the address of the credit card used to subscribe matched that of the Tribeca neighborhood apartment that he shares with his wife.
According to the Daily Mail, the entrepreneur spent thousands on Ashley Madison, making a whopping 62 paid transactions. Credits are required to send messages to people on the site ($49 buys subscribers 100 credits, $250 buys Ashley Madison users 1,000 credits). There is a money-back guarantee if the subscriber does not have an affair.
A source told Us Weekly at the time that Kristen, 38, believed her husband.
The entrepreneur is is one of several celebrity husbands to be named in the scandal. 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar confessed to cheating on his wife, Anna Duggar, in a statement last week after Gawker revealed that he had two accounts on the infidelity platform.
Christian blogger Sam Radar also confessed to using the website, although he never cheated. Louisiana GOP executive director Jason Dore was also linked to an Ashley Madison account, although he claimed that he used the platform for research purposes.
Us Weekly also discovered on Monday, Aug. 24, that the email address of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's husband, Jionni LaValle, was linked to Ashley Madison.
