They’re all good! Karlie Kloss reaffirmed her BFF status with Taylor Swift in a series of tweets after some misinterpreted her comment that the pop superstar’s nemesis Kim Kardashian was a “lovely person.”
“I will not allow the media to misconstrue my words. Taylor has always had my back and I will always have hers,” the supermodel, 24, tweeted on Monday, August 15. “And I will never be the girl that you can use to pit women against each other. That isn’t me,” she continued in a second tweet.
While speaking with The Sunday Times, Kloss was caught off guard and started stumbling over her words when the interviewer asked a question about the Keeping Up With Kardashians star. “I think she’s been a lovely person to me in the past,” Kloss said on Sunday, August 14. “Look, I really don’t know her that well. My closest friends, really, are my sisters and my mum.”
Last month, Swift feuded with Kardashian, 35, and her husband Kanye West after the reality star posted a series of Snapchat videos that showed a phone conversation between the rapper, 39, and the “Wildest Dreams” singer. The Selfish author alleged that Swift had approved some controversial lyrics in the song, including the part where West raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”
The “Shake It Off” songstress responded via a statement on her Instagram account, explaining that the Snapchat clips didn’t paint the whole story. “Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world,” she wrote. “Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination.”
While Kloss isn’t involved in the Kimye-Swift feud and has stayed neutral, she and the pop superstar are always supportive of each other. Earlier this month, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel posted a pic of her “best friend” Swift, 26, video chatting with her on her birthday. “When you’re halfway around the world & your best friend still finds a way to celebrate 24 with you @taylorswift13,” she captioned the cute photo.
