Kate Gosselin is honoring her late dog Meika.
“I have tried to write this a few times over the last few days,” Gosselin, 51, wrote via TikTok on Tuesday, July 28. “It feels too final to put it on paper, so to speak. We lost Meika in the middle of the night on Saturday. She went into respiratory failure and they couldn’t revive her. I have NEVER in my life been so broken, angry or grief stricken.”
She continued, “We are suffering. [Our other dog] Koda is suffering. Please give us time to grieve and we’ll be back at some point. Our baby, the closest thing to a child [that my boyfriend] Steve [Neild] and I will ever have, was only 15 months and 10 days old. Life is so cruel and unfair. This one I’ll never heal from.”
Alongside the tribute, Gosselin shared a video of Neild playing fetch with the German shepherd. (Gosselin also adopted Koda with Neild, with whom she went public last year, in May.)
“She was so young, so perfect in every way, and so healthy,” Gosselin added in the caption. “One wrong step and she’s gone. Meeks, I hope Nuq found you and is taking good care of you. You were just a baby, still on puppy food. WHYYYY??? WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO YOU??!!”
She continued, “I know you fought as hard as you could. I hope there’s an endless supply of your favorite balls in heaven and more watermelon than you could ever dream of. We love you, our baby girl, no one will ever come close to you. My tears for you will never stop. Sleep well, our baby. ❤️💔❤️.”
Just seven months prior, Kate — who is best known for starring in the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 with ex-husband Jon Gosselin and their kids — shared that her dog Nanuq had died.
“We suffered an unimaginable loss on Friday night,” she wrote over a photo of Nanuq via Instagram in December 2025. “My soul girl, the rest of me, passed away quickly in the car on our way home for Christmas. I am taking a break from TikTok because l am hurting so deeply. But I know you guys loved her too, so I needed to let you know.”
While sharing another photo, Kate wrote, “I will spend the rest of my life missing you NuNu. Life will never be the same. I loved you more than life itself. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you.”
