Babies on the brain! Katy Perry said that she thinks about children a lot these days while speaking with Us Weekly at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Once Upon a Time gala on Saturday, October 15.

The 31-year-old “Roar” singer, who is involved with the music therapy program at the hospital, explained that spending time around little ones has her thinking about just how much work goes into raising a healthy kid.

“Children to me are becoming a big focus,” Perry told Us. “I don’t even have one, but I see it in my sister’s kids and just how much nurturing and love they need.”

Perry helped deliver both of her sister’s children (the second one just last month) and pointed to those experiences as a window into the world of parenting.

“I see the amazing things of birth and children and vulnerability and how we have to take care of them and how big of an impression we have. It’s such a responsibility,” she said.

But in the meantime, Perry has been spending quality time with another cutie, boyfriend Orlando Bloom’s young son.

Perry has been dating her British beau since the beginning of the year after the pair hit it off at the Golden Globe awards in January, and together the couple has gone on outings with the actor’s 5-year-old son, Flynn.

Prior to Bloom, 39, Perry dated John Mayer on and off before finally calling it quits for good in 2015. She was previously wed to Russell Brand from October 2010 to December 2011.

Bloom shares Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, whom he divorced in 2013.
