Well, that's one way to get over a breakup. Shortly after news broke that she split from boyfriend John Mayer, Katy Perry tweeted on Wednesday, Feb. 26 that she helped deliver a baby.
"Finally you can add 'helps delivers babies in living rooms' to my resume!" the 29-year-old "Part of Me" singer tweeted. "It's been a miracle of a day . . . Auntie Katy aka Stylist Auntie." (While Perry didn't mention whose baby she helped deliver, many of her Twitter followers were speculating that it could be older sister Angela Hudson's child.)
Earlier on Wednesday, multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that Perry and Mayer, 46, had broken up again. The "Who You Love" singers had been dating on-and-off since summer 2012.
An insider told Us that their recent split was "mutual" and "extremely amicable." So, what went wrong? The source said the musicians "made the mature decision that it was the right time" to end the relationship.
Mayer was Perry's first serious boyfriend following her divorce from Russell Brand. During her first breakup with Mayer, the pop star told the July 2013 issue of Vogue: "I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind. Beautiful mind, tortured soul."
She added of her failed romance with both Brand and Mayer: "I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."
