Katy Perry kicked off the Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX halftime show with a roar — literally. The songstress, dressed in a sparkly minidress adorned with yellow and orange flames, rode onto the field on a giant prism metal tiger while belting out “Roar” to kick off her performance on Sunday, Feb. 1.

Perry then transitioned into her megahit “Dark Horse” before rocking out on stage with Lenny Kravitz, who couldn’t have looked more like a rocker in a leather jacket, Natalia Fedner shirt, and red aviators. While singing “I Kissed a Girl,” John Mayer’s ex didn’t hold back and gyrated against the rocker while whipping her hair back and forth.

Following the epic collaboration, Perry’s LED stage floor transformed into a seriously bubbly island — complete with dancing sharks (yes, the sharks!) surfboards, and beach balls. Perry then made her first outfit change, switching into a yellow, blue, and red striped crop top and matching skirt for “Teenage Dream.” Following the jam, the crowd perfectly joined Perry in singing (unfortunately sans Snoop Dogg) “California Gurls.”

After the epic dancing sharks, Missy Elliott then BROUGHT. DOWN. THE. HOUSE.

Russell Brand’s ex-wife finally wrested back the show with her performance of “Firework.” Adorned in a silver dress complete with stars, she soared over the field on a shooting star while fireworks shot off all around her, lighting up the stadium sky.
To make it all even better? The powerhouses extravaganza perfectly mimicked NBC’s beloved ‘80s PSA series The More You Know.
