All bundled up! Kelly Clarkson’s daughter, River Rose, looked adorable attending her first Christmas parade in a photo the singer shared with fans via Instagram on Saturday, December 3.
“River’s first parade!! #GrandeMarshall #NashvilleChristmasParade,” the proud mama, 34, captioned the snapshot, in which she gives the 2-year-old a big hug while lifting her up for the camera. In the photo, River wears a bright red jacket and oversize white furry cap.
A giant glittery present sits behind the mother-daughter pair, and crowds can be seen just behind Clarkson across the street.
The American Idol alum has often shared cute photos and videos of her daughter on social media. (She and husband Brandon Blackstock are also parents of 7-month-old son Remington Alexander.)
In October, she shared a video of herself being silly with River in their kitchen, shimmying to Salt-N-Pepa’s 1986 hit “Push It” to raise awareness for diabetes.
“This is totally inappropriate for a 2-year-old!” the singer joked at one point as the pair jumped around for 23 seconds.
Earlier that month, the “Piece by Piece” singer told Late Night With Seth Meyers host Seth Meyers that River is quick to pick up on things even at her young age.
“But when I sing to her now — she’s heard it forever now ’cause she’s 2 — she literally will put her hand, like, this close to my face, and she’ll be like, ‘Sing, sing, sing!’” Clarkson explained, putting her hand up against her own face.
“I have to sing, like, these three songs every night,” she continued. “And she’ll put her hand in my [face], and she’ll be like, ‘Bye!’ … And then she’s like, ‘Bed!’ and I’m like, ‘OK, I guess you’re done.’ … She’s a diva! … I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with genetics.”
