Former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson no longer feels pressure to live up to the often unrealistic beauty standards of her days at the Playboy Mansion.
“Some dude just said I need a makeover on my post about my kids’ sports,” Wilkinson, 41, revealed via her Instagram Story on Thursday, October 22. “It’s so weird the fact people think I owe them that.”
She declared, “I’m happy and free.”
The former reality star — who was one of Playboy creator Hugh Hefner‘s three girlfriends alongside Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt in the 2000s — clarified that she has deliberately shifted the content she shares via social media in recent years to specifically discourage oddball comments from men.
“I’ve also been in a phase of wanting to lose certain men as viewers even if it takes looking old,” she joked. “I have nothing for you guys. Time to go. LOL.”
Wilkinson acknowledged that not all of the men who follow her social media accounts are to blame for the ones who interact with her inappropriately.
“I see the good ones and appreciate the respect,” she concluded.
Earlier this year, Wilkinson shared with fans that she was using a GLP-1 medication to help on her weight loss journey — and she reached a personal milestone fairly quickly.
“Omg I’ve lost so much weight LOL. Fitting back in my old jeans,” she proudly announced in July.
At the time, Wilkinson explained to a fan that she hadn’t “stepped on a scale” to weigh herself since starting on the medication.
“I go by the fit of my clothes and old clothes. Was on my way to size 10. Now I’m less than a size 6,” she posted via Instagram.
The following month, Wilkinson stressed that she was “at peace” with her body no matter what social media commenters might say.
“Sexy is the last thing I want to be nowadays. I aim for health, happiness, success and god’s light. Peace is everything to me,” Wilkinson wrote via Instagram. “Sometimes I feel the negativity in the world but then I remember how amazing I am and get right back to it.”
She continued, “It’s not easy being a ‘public figure’ while figuring out life and its ups and downs but god gave me this platform for whatever reason. LOL. 😂 I see people poking at me for my body and my aging and it’s OK.”
The Kendra on Top alum noted that what really matters is that she is able to live an active lifestyle and keep up with her 16-year-old son, Hank IV, and 12-year-old daughter, Alijah. (Wilkinson shares Hank IV and Alijah with her ex-husband Hank Baskett III.)
“I am happy being me and alive and watching my kids grow,” she pointed out. “If people want to be negative, that’s their energy not mine. I’m OK not being Playboy-skinny anymore or bleached blonde 21-year-old. That was a time of my life but now I’m older and have lived a life.”
