Kim Kardashian Felt ‘Completely Safe’ at Paris Apartment Where She Was Robbed, Doesn’t Blame Longtime Bodyguard Pascal Duvier

Kim Kardashian doesn’t blame her longtime bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, for not being on hand to protect her when she was robbed at gunpoint early Monday, October 3. According to a source, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star felt safe staying alone at her and husband Kanye West’s apartment in the luxury building known as the Hôtel de Portals.

As previously reported, Kardashian, 35, was held at gunpoint before being tied up and locked in a bathroom while five men dressed as police officers raided her flat. The thieves stole an estimated 10 million worth of jewelry, according to law enforcement. The pieces include a ring worth an estimated at $4.5 million. Two iPhones believed to belong to Kardashian were also reportedly taken. A police official told Us that the crime committed is believed to have been done by a “highly organized” gang who did a great deal of planning before the raid.

“There will be a massive security detail in place for the future,” the insider tells Us of Kimye’s plans moving forward, noting that “Pascal is staying.”

A Paris judicial police official confirmed to Us that the five men made their way into the historic building after attacking a male concierge, who they handcuffed, tied up, gagged and hid in a cupboard in the stairwell before entering Kardashian and West’s apartment. After taking off with millions of dollars’ worth of Kardashian’s property, the robbers escaped on bicycles.

Kardashian then reportedly called her husband’s assistant, who informed the rapper of the horrifying event. West, 39, was performing in NYC when he found out about the incident.

“I’m sorry, I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show,” he told the crowd Sunday night while performing at Meadows Festival in Queens, New York.

After giving police a statement, the Selfish author took a private plane out of Paris to New York City, where she reunited with West and their two children, North, 3, and Saint, 9 months. Their kids weren’t with Kardashian at the time of the attack.
