Skin is in! Kim Kardashian made a bold statement by going without makeup at the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, October 2, wearing nothing but moisturizer on her famous face.
“Balenciaga. No make up today,” the 35-year-old reality star captioned a stunning photo of herself on Instagram. In it, the Selfish author wears a trench coat over her bare body to show off her curves, her long straight hair worn loose around her shoulders.
In May, the mom of two told reporters at the Vogue 100 Festival that her husband, Kanye West, prefers her without makeup on.
Kardashian’s look is a far cry from her usually dolled-up, glamorous looks. On Saturday, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star stunned in an all-black fur-and-leather accented outfit that showed off her sky-high legs.
“Step up in this bitch like!!!!” she captioned an image of herself being escorted out of a show with an umbrella to shield the rain. And on Thursday, September 29, she and sister Kourtney Kardashian stepped out in matching metallics at the Balmain after show.
Kardashian’s Sunday simplicity, however, follows the makeup-free trend taking over Hollywood. In August, Alicia Keys caused a rumbling online when she went barefaced at the MTV Video Music Awards — and vowed to stop wearing makeup altogether going forward.
“We put so many limitations on ourselves … in a lot of ways I’m sick of it,” the 35-year-old singer told Savannah Guthrie on the Today show in early September. “I’m over it, to be honest. … It’s about being our unique, own selves.”
But beauty products still hold a place in her heart. "I love makeup. I love my lipgloss, I love my blush, I love my eyeliner," she clarified. "At the same time, I don't want to feel beholden [to it]."
