Kim Kardashian is flying far, far away from all of this.
On Monday night, hours after her shocking divorce filing, the reality star, 31, took a flight out of LAX bound for Australia, where she's scheduled to promote her clothing line. One accessory the fashionista didn't bring with her for her trip across the world: Her wedding ring from Kris Humphries.
She and the NBA star were married for just 72 days when Kardashian decided to pull the plug, filing divorce papers in L.A. earlier on Monday; the duo dated for nine months before their extravagant, $10 million Aug. 20 wedding in Montecito, Calif.
And while some skeptics have charged that the romance was staged for the cameras, a source close the E! star tells Us Weekly it's more complicated than that.
"She is truly in love with love," the source observes. "She's always the girl doodling her future husband's name on her notebook. And that's what happened here. She fell for him really hard when she didn't really know him. She got very swept up."
Still, fans are shaking their heads over how quickly — 72 days!! — Kardashian decided to file her divorce papers. Explains the source: "She didn't want to be out there lying about how happy she was in her marriage when she wasn’t. She has a lot of regrets."
