Kim Kardashian Says She Owes Her ‘Career to Social Media’ in Pre-Robbery Interview

Before Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint during her terrifying Paris robbery incident earlier this month, the reality star talked about being an open book on social media in an interview with 60 Minutes.

“There are pitfalls,” she said during the pre-robbery interview, which airs on CBS this Sunday, October 23. “Lack of privacy, loss of privacy. That’s not for everyone. For me, I can handle it.”

In fact, the 36-year-old told Bill Whitaker that her internet fame is the main reason for her considerable success. “I totally attribute my career to social media," she said.

Indeed, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has made a name for herself on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, but she hasn't posted at all since the horrifying robbery.

A source tells Us in the latest issue of Us Weekly that the Kimoji creator is having flashbacks and is reliving the incident. [She’s been having] difficulty sleeping and has anxiety when she leaves the house," the insider says. "She’s never experienced anything like this before.”

In recent weeks, Kardashian has remained inside her L.A. home with her kids, North, 3, and Saint, 10 months. Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian recently spoke out about her sister's well-being during an interview for Australia's Today Extra show, stating, “She’s not doing great. I think we’re all really still shaken up, and I just think she has a big, supportive family. And I know that all of the traumatic things we’ve been through, we get through them together as a family, and that’s what family is all about.”
