Hallmark star Ashley Williams was sworn to secrecy after her sister, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and husband Brad Paisley scored invitations to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded nuptials.
“I don’t even know what wedding you’re referring to. All I know is that on Friday my sister had an event,” Ashley, 47, coyly teased during a “Pause Rewind” interview published Thursday, July 9. “I did what every good little sister does, and I supported her as she got ready.”
Kimberly, 54, and Brad, 53, were in attendance at Swift’s July 3 wedding inside New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden arena. Sharing photos of their outfits via Instagram, Ashley was seen prancing in the background.
“When I say supported, I mean danced around like a total weirdo and squealed a lot,” Ashley quipped. “The best part of whatever wedding this was the very next morning, which was the 4th of July, we ordered bagels and we … watched the boat parade, and she told me every single tiny little detail.”
Without divulging secrets from Swift’s big day, Ashley teased that Brad and Kimberly were invited by text.
“I think it was a text, but I think it was classy,” she stated. “One of the very big stressors is that they were warned in advance that the phones would be taken away, so [my sister] was like, ‘What do I do if I have to go to the bathroom and then I come back … and I don’t know anybody?’ The strategy was to take people with you to the bathroom.”
According to Ashley, the Father of the Bride star was worried about figuring out the time without a smartphone clock handy.
“Brad actually bought a watch because you’re not allowed to have Apple watches either,” Ashley said. “Brad bought a watch so he could know what time it was. [For me,] talk about, like, ‘Get your popcorn,’ I was literally like, ‘Yeah, get your popcorn and just watch the show.’ Luckily when she was ready, I was like, ‘Do a dance with me!’”
Swift and Kelce, both 36, invited nearly 1,000 famous faces to celebrate their wedding day. While Brad sported a classic tuxedo for the occasion, Kimberly opted for an off-the-shoulder Theia gown embroidered with purple flowers.
To celebrate the occasion, the now-newlyweds donated $26 million to multiple charities, including Brad and Kimberly’s The Store in Nashville.
“Taking a moment to say a special thank you to Taylor and Travis for their amazing donation and congratulations on their upcoming wedding! 💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻,” Brad wrote via Instagram.
