Kris Jenner Has Emotional Conversation With Bruce About Transition: “It’s Like Bruce Died” — Watch Now

Bruce Jenner‘s journey continues. As the former Olympian, 65, continues to share details about his gender transition, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians patriarch is finding it hard to not disappoint those closest to him. Tackling the tough conversation with his kids Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner on part one of E!’s About Bruce, Bruce sat down with ex-wife Kris Jenner on part two of the special May 18.

Clearly anxious to come clean to his former wife of 25 years, the athlete and motivational speaker was quick to recall the happy times they shared with their blended family, which includes the Kardashians, Jenner girls, and Brody and Brandon Jenner. “We raised amazing children and those memories will live inside me forever. And I will continue to have more of those wonderful wonderful memories. And I just want to get through this and do the best damn job of not hurting anybody, and that includes you,” Bruce said in the candid chat.

Like her daughters Khloe and Kendall before her, Kris, 59, felt slighted by Bruce’s decision to keep some parts of his journey private. “You shut me out a long time ago. You were angry, made me angry. You were just very very angry where we had to separate. So now it makes sense to me. The truth in your head was different from the truth that came out of your mouth,” Kris told her ex, from whom she split in October 2013.

While Kris admitted she was aware of Bruce’s cross-dressing, she never saw the full magnitude of his transition coming. (As he previously told Diane Sawyer, Bruce briefly took hormones in the ‘80s, but told Kris that he didn’t resume treatment until the couple split in 2013.)

Now that she’s had time to process the news, Kris told Bruce she is mourning the husband she once had. “I just miss Bruce. It’s gonna take a minute for me to mourn that relationship. I’m trying so hard to process that pain. It’s a struggle,” she said. “It’s like I have to mourn Bruce Jenner. . . Bruce died. And it’s really hard for me.”

In the most poignant part of the chat, Kris admitted to her spouse of more than two decades that she was putting her own feelings aside. “[I want you to] live the happiest life you can live,” she urged. “I just want you to know that you were a great dad, you were a great friend, and you were a great partner. At the end of the day it’s not about my feelings, it’s about you, and I just want you to be happy.”
