Lamar Odom resurfaces in LA in the early morning of Sept 9

There he is. Lamar Odom was photographed in public for the first time since his rehab drama late last week. Just past midnight on Monday, Sept. 9, Khloe Kardashian's estranged, troubled husband, 33, was spotted leaving his downtown Los Angeles loft with an unidentified male pal. Wearing a blue Nike tracksuit, the free agent NBA player first made a brief pitstop at a nearby sushi restaurant, Wokcano.

"Lamar was here last night around midnight," a Wokcano server tells Us Weekly. "He came in with a friend and walked around the restaurant as if he was looking for someone." Adds the server: "It was odd that he didn't sit down to eat. He actually seemed distracted. He's normally very friendly, but he seemed like he was in a rush."

After the odd Wokcano visit, Odom and his friend stopped by a local convenience store, Famima. There, the athlete was "very upbeat," a Famima employee tells Us. "He bought a piece of fruit and chatted to people outside the store for a few minutes, too. When he was asked how he was doing he said, he was 'great'." The former L.A. Laker often stops by the spot for a "soda or a snack late at night," the witness adds.

No word yet on whether Odom has made contact with wife Kardashian, 29. The reality starlet had "no idea" of his whereabouts late last week as other sources told Us that Odom — struggling with drug addictions, including cocaine — had checked in and out of rehab last Thursday.

"Khloe is so exhausted by everything. She doesn't know what's going on," a Khloe source told Us. She posted a cryptic "See No Evil" message via Instagram on Monday.
