Odom’s outing comes one month after the release of Netflix’s Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, which touched on his rise to NBA fame, relationship with ex-wife Khloé Kardashian and his near-fatal overdose. (Odom and Kardashian tied the knot in 2009. She filed for divorce four years later, but postponed her court motion amid Odom’s health scare. They officially divorced in 2016.)

“The drug buildup was getting worse and worse. There were many times Lamar would go for 12 hours or two days and escape rehab. He would go on a drug bender and no one could find him,” Kardashian said. “I was either looking for him in alleys or looking for him in motels. He would have tinfoil cutouts or spoons and he was freebasing things and leaving things everywhere. I remember needing to go to hotel rooms to clean up after him.”

Kardashian continued, “I was such an enabler without knowing I was an enabler. But I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up, hold it together and protect him.”

When appearing on an April 6 episode of the Today show, Jenna Bush Hager noted that Kardashian “stood by” Odom’s side and “saved” his life, to which he replied, “In some ways. God saved my life. My lord saved my life, honestly.”

“A lot of us were saying, ‘She rode hard for you,’” Sheinelle Jones told Odom, who acknowledged that Kardashian “took care” of him. He added, “But God took care of me the most. What I came back from is like a medical miracle.”
