Lindsie Chrisley allegedly drove at nearly 90 miles per hour and “fled” from a cop prior to her DUI arrest, according to a newly released police report.

In the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office case report obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, May 27, the arresting officer claimed to have been alerted to “a reckless driver in the area of East Cherokee Drive and Ranchwood Trail going northbound” on Saturday, May 23. A “Be on the Look Out” (BOLO) was issued for a black or green Ford Bronco that was allegedly spotted “speeding, tailgating and flashing their high beams.”

According to the reporting cop, another officer located the Bronco in question, but the driver allegedly “fled from him at a high rate of speed” when the officer turned on his emergency lights.

As the reporting officer located the Bronco and turned on his own emergency lights, he claimed that the driver “did not immediately yield to the right but continued past multiple suitable stopping locations before coming to a stop” at a gas station. The officer then made contact with the vehicle’s driver, Chrisley, 36.

The officer claimed that Chrisley told him a car in front of her had “almost hit a deer” and she had to “swerve around them.” He noted that Chrisley had been driving 86 MPH. According to the report, Chrisley admitted to driving nearly 90 MPH but then recanted her statement, claiming she “had not driven at that speed.”

When asked by the officer why Chrisley had driven through the neighborhood where she had been spotted, the podcaster said the mother of her passenger, Travis Evans, lived in the area. Though Chrisley denied visiting Evans’ mother, she claimed that she had picked Evans up and brought him to his mom’s house because she was “dying.”

The officer alleged that Chrisley’s breath smelled like alcohol and that she was slurring her words. He asked her to take a field sobriety test, which she allegedly refused. According to the report, Chrisley later offered to participate in the test, but she had already been arrested at that point.

Chrisley was arrested in Canton, Georgia, on Saturday and charged with DUI less safe, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving and speeding. (In Georgia, DUI less safe means that a person can face charges of driving under the influence even if their blood alcohol concentration is below 0.08 percent.)

Chrisley was booked that night and subsequently released on Sunday, May 24, after posting bond. Her bail was set at $1,355 for DUI less safe, $680 for improper passing, $565 for reckless driving and $2,006 for speeding.

Chrisley addressed the arrest in a statement to TMZ.

“I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was,” the TV personality said, noting that she planned to “fight the charge.”
