Oh snap! Liz Tuccillo, a writer for Sex and the City, confessed during an interview with HuffPost Live that she didn’t want Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) to end up together when the HBO series ended after six seasons.
“Michael Patrick King was like, ‘Let’s talk about if they should stay together in the end,'” Tuccillo, who is behind upcoming romance Take Care, recalled. “We were all, like, fighting and arguing, and I was actually somebody who didn’t think she should be with Big in the end.”
As fans of the iconic series recall, Carrie and Big defined being an on-again, off-again couple and after Carrie left NYC and jetted off to Paris to be with boyfriend Aleksandr Petrovsky, Big finally realized Carrie was the “one.”
“The truth is, I think Michael Patrick King always knew they were going to be together and was just being very generous as a showrunner,” Tuccillo explained. “Now I’m happy they stayed together.”
