Such a sweet gesture! "Royals" singer Lorde showed class on Monday, March 16, reaching out to bullied X Factor New Zealand contestant Joe Irvine.
The young aspiring singer made headlines on Sunday, March 15, when now-fired X Factor judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon went after Irvine for his performance of "Cry Me a River." The judges bashed his presentation as "disgusting," "cheap," "absurd," and "atrocious."
Kills and Moon were quickly fired from the reality show for their so-called "destructive tirade" and Irvine got further retribution when he was contacted by an even bigger star.
New Zealand native Lorde sent a package to Irvine with a batch of cupcakes adorned with icing reading, "Keep Being Joe," and a handwritten letter.

"Hi Joe, Just wanted to say: Your individuality, positive energy, and spirit are infectious," the Grammy winner, 18, wrote. "I think you're doing an awesome job on the show so far."
"I'm a performer too, and I wanted to say that no matter how many people make fun of me for how I dress, move, and act, I'm being me — and that's what's important," she added. "Good luck and lots of love, Lorde."
Irvine shared a photo of the treats and the note via Twitter, adding to Lorde, "Hey you are awsome I love ur music and wanna meet you thank u so much for the cupcakes xo… I love them."
