Luann de Lesseps isn’t living with regret in the wake of her split from husband Tom D’Agostino Jr.
The Real Housewives of New York City star, 52, opened up about the failed relationship during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday, October 18, explaining that she looks back on the relationship in a positive light. “I don’t live with regrets,” she said. “I mean, it was a part of my life that I was in love.”
The former couple tied the knot in a New Year’s Eve ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, in front of more than 200 guests, including RHONY stars Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Dorinda Medley.
“It was a beautiful wedding. It was his birthday. It was gorgeous. It was beautiful. It was one hell of a party,” she added. “I don’t regret it, I don’t take pictures down, I’m not that kind of person. I don’t, you know, live in the past. It’s part of my life and that’s how I live. I live adventurously, I live with love and I’m not afraid to love either, I’m not afraid to take chances and live my life.”
As previously reported, de Lesseps announced on August 3 that she and the businessman were divorcing after just seven months of marriage. The couple’s drama had been an ongoing storyline on the Bravo reality series, as Medley, Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill told de Lesseps that there had been rumors of infidelity by D’Agostino.
The reality star opened up to Williams about what she felt was the breaking point in her marriage. “The last straw was, you know, just between, you know, the women, the press, him going out, me getting phone calls, pictures of him at bars, at the same bars where he frequents all the time — which I asked him not to go to,” she recalled. “So it just kept happening and I just, I got to a certain point where you just get, I got totally fed up, I couldn’t do it anymore, I just couldn’t do it anymore. I was unhappy and I think he was unhappy too, I think he wanted to keep his lifestyle.”
