Maci Bookout Bluntly Describes Ex Ryan Edwards’ ‘Perfect Match’: Someone Who Can ‘Put Up With a Little Bit More of His S–t’

Tell Us how you really feel! Teen Mom OG’s Maci Bookout didn’t hold back while describing the “perfect match” for ex-fiancé Ryan Edwards.

Chatting with MTV News, the 25-year-old reality star opened up about her former beau’s failure to find a girl to settle down with.

“Sometimes I do worry about Ryan and if he’ll find happiness or find someone that completes him,” Bookout — who is engaged to Taylor McKinney, who she shares daughter Jayde, 15 months, and son Maverick, 3 months, with — told the outlet. “But in my honest opinion, I think Ryan has to learn to love himself first.”

She bluntly added: “Ryan’s perfect match would be — this is gonna sound ridiculous — someone exactly like me, but maybe not such a hard-ass. Like, someone that might be willing to put up with a little bit more of his s–t than I was willing to put up with.”

The 16 and Pregnant alum pulled the plug on her romance with Edwards — who she shares 7-year-old son Bentley with — in 2010 after she had had enough of his questionable parenting choices and unnecessarily rude behavior.

“I eventually realized that he wasn’t going to be my life partner — things just weren’t the way they should have been,” the young mother told MTV at the time. “I knew we would always have to be parents together, but there was no way for us to live our lives together.”

Since calling it quits, the pair have maintained a relatively amicable relationship and do their best to coparent — even though Edwards repeatedly misses Bentley’s school events and baseball games, as documented on TMOG.

“I think he cares when it’s convenient,” Bookout said somberly last season on the hit docuseries. “When he has nothing better to do, and that some days he wakes up and I think he genuinely wants to be a good dad and he really tries. Any time something that seems like more fun or something that seems like less work comes along, it’s easy for him to use that as an excuse to not show up.”
