Madonna is swallowing her pride and trying to arrange a peace talk.
Four months into her bitter custody war with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco, she has asked that the three hash it out face to face, a Ritchie source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
"There will be no lawyers," adds the source of the early April sit-down.
The 15-year-old is still pushing to live with his lenient dad, 47, in London instead of his strict mother, 57, in NYC after the teen left her Rebel Heart tour in December and refused to return home for the holidays. Says the source, "Rocco feels that she is more concerned with proving Guy wrong than with what he wants."
Yet a Madonna insider insists she is only worried about reaching Ritchie to hammer out the details of the meeting. The location and date have not yet been decided. "Madonna is pushing to resolve things, but Guy recently disappeared to the Maldives with Rocco," adds the insider. "He isn’t resolving anything now."
Madonna and Ritchie split in 2008 after eight years of marriage. Madonna has had custody of their eldest son, Rocco, ever since.
At a London hearing March 21, Madonna's lawyer said to a High Court judge, "She wants to chart a course for Rocco and the family to help put this behind them and restore peace to the family."
On March 27, the Queen of Pop Instagrammed homemade colorful and gem-encrusted Easter eggs with the names of her children and pets, including an egg for Rocco.
If the three aren't able to settle the matter on their own, they are due in NYC court for another hearing on June 1.
Madonna and Ritchie are also parents of David Banda, 10, who they adopted. The pop star also has Lourdes, 19, from a previous marriage, and Mercy, 10, who was also adopted.
