Marie Osmond's 18-year-old son Michael Blosil committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of his L.A. apartment building Friday night, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.
A rep for Marie Osmond released the following statement to UsMagazine.com Saturday afternoon:"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time." Marie's brother Donny told Entertainment Tonight, "Please pray for my sister and her family."
Michael was one of eight children, and reportedly suffered "severe depression" throughout his life. The troubled young man left a despondent note explaining his decision to take his own life, ET reports. He entered a rehab facility at age 16 in 2007.

Marie and Donny Osmond's Las Vegas show was cancelled for Saturday night.
Update: L.A. County Coroner Investigator Jim Blacklock told UsMagazine.com that the the autopsy has not yet occurred, and that "that case is still under investigation." Blosil's death has a "security hold" on it, Blacklock explained — which means that few details will be released to the public at this time.
