Michael Phelps made it a night to remember on Sunday, August 7, when he won his first gold medal of the Rio Games.
The celebrated Olympian, 31, was cheered on by his adorable son, Boomer, as he helped bring Team USA to victory in the 4×100–meter freestyle relay.
Phelps took the second leg of the race, which he competed in with his teammates Nathan Adrian, Ryan Held and Caeleb Dressel.
The win was special, not only because it brings his Olympic gold-medal count to an incredible 19, but because his 3-month-old baby was there to witness it.
Cradled close to his mom — Phelp’s fianceé, Nicole Johnson — Boomer wore a pair of patriotic headphones to protect his ears from the screaming crowds.

The infant has his own Instagram account, where his proud parents have been posting all his supercute photos.
After Phelps' win, the social media page was updated with an adorable snap of Boomer and his mommy appearing to watch a playback of his latest Olympic win.
"Thanks for sharing your gold medal with me dad!!!" the caption read. "I love you and I can’t wait till I get to see you."
The games are expected to be the final Olympics for Phelps, who admitted before they began that he was excited to have Boomer be there for his grand finale.
He said: “To have him watch the potential last races of my career is something I look forward to being able to share with him.”
Phelps is the most-decorated Olympian in history, having won a total of 19 medals.
