More like what’s really not good? Nicki Minaj shockingly ripped Miley Cyrus as a “bitch” onstage during the live broadcast of the 2015 MTV VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 30, and naturally like the rest of Us, the show host was stunned.
A viral GIF from the moment shows Cyrus, 22, standing to the side while Minaj, 32, accepted the Moonman for Best Hip Hop music video for “Anaconda.” While all seemed usual with the rest of Minaj’s acceptance speech, the tail end got alarmingly heated. “And now… back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me in the press,” Minaj said, as the smile on Cyrus’ face immediately waned. “Miley, what’s good?”
Cyrus had nothing to say as she looked dumbfounded just like several members of the audience behind her, then proceeded to pick up the pieces like a true pro. “Hey, we are all in this industry and we all do interviews and say s–t,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer replied from an opposite stage. “Nicki, congratuf–kinglations.”
As evidenced on live television, Minaj angrily pointed her long manicured nails and mouthed in response (several times!), “Don’t play with me, bitch!”
Minaj’s anger stems from a New York Times interview conducted last Thursday, in which Cyrus was asked about the rapper’s Twitter spat with Taylor Swift.
“I saw that. I didn’t really get into it. I know there was some beef,” Cyrus said about Minaj’s VMAs tweets during a loaded Q&A. “I don’t really know. There’s a way to talk to people… What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite. I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love.”
