A heartbreak intense enough to inspire dozens of country songs: Sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly that Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are struggling with the decision to end their four-year marriage.

“Blake’s really broken up over this,” says a source close to The Voice coach, who filed for divorce in his native Oklahoma July 6. “Just devastated.”

His 31-year-old bride — seen crying at a July 18 concert in Cheyenne, Wyo. — is also reeling, says an insider: “She’s very heartbroken, sad, and confused.”

The pair’s divorce was granted quickly — just two weeks after Shelton, 39, filed — but insiders say the split itself was a long time coming. Arguments over jealousy (Lambert has confessed to reading her man’s texts and direct messages on Twitter) and when to start a family (he wanted kids; she wasn’t ready) were constant. Says one insider of the duo, who wed in a lantern-lit Texas barn in 2011, “Both of them have been unhappy for while.”

Adding to the challenge: the fact that the Country Music Association's male vocalist of the year and the six-time Academy of Country Music female vocalist of the year were rarely in the same state. Despite Lambert telling Us in 2012 that they wouldn’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other, “they were rarely together,” says an insider. “Distance was a major factor.”
