North Bergen police announced on Instagram on Tuesday, October 25, that the 32-year-old, who resides in the New Jersey suburb, had been located. "After an extensive search by North Bergen Police Department Detectives in cooperation with the NYPD, we have located the SHIRLENE QUIGLEY,” the post said. "She is safe and at a medical facility which location is undisclosed at this time. North Bergen Police Detectives have contacted her father and he is in route from Los Angeles to reunite with his daughter. We are very pleased with this outcome. We want to thank the New York City Police Department for their tremendous amount of cooperation in this matter.”
Missy Elliott took to Twitter to thank her followers for their love and support after the missing dancer was found safe. “Thank u 4 all your prayers everyone & @nbpolice #shirlenequigley is safe & being treated in a [un]disclosed location,” she wrote on Tuesday, adding prayer-hand emojis.
Both Missy Elliott and Rihanna made emotional pleas for information about their missing friend’s whereabouts on their social media accounts on Monday. “This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!! My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her!” Rihanna captioned a video of Quigley. “If anyone has seen or has any information on @shirlenequigley’s whereabouts … PLEASE CONTACT the North Bergen Police Department.”
Prior to her disappearance, Quigley’s father said his daughter made a cryptic comment to her friend, saying, “Get ready, it’s about to happen and I’m going to need you to sub for me,” NBC News reports. Police say her phone was found at a bridal store in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood.
